    Tee Nast: From Newark to the Hip-Hop Spotlight

Terence Hartsfield, better known as Tee Nast, was born on October 10, 1980, in the vibrant city of Newark, New Jersey. Growing up in the neighboring community of East Orange, Tee Nast began his journey into the world of rap music in 1994, alongside his childhood friend Tah G Ali. Together, they would embark on a creative partnership that would shape Tee Nast's musical path.

East Orange holds a unique place in the history of hip-hop, and Tee Nast had the privilege of growing up on 19th Street, just around the corner from the legendary hip-hop moguls, Naughty by Nature. It was here, in the heart of this influential neighborhood, that Tee Nast's passion for rap music was nurtured and influenced by the sights and sounds of the genre's pioneers.

Among Tee Nast's most significant inspirations are the iconic artists of the era, including Big Daddy Kane, Boot Camp Clique, Fugees, Redman, Wu Tang Clan, Jay-Z, and the Notorious B.I.G. These legendary figures helped shape his unique style and fueled his artistic aspirations.

Throughout his career, Tee Nast has achieved notable milestones and memorable performances that have solidified his presence in the hip-hop scene:

  • In 2004, Tee Nast embarked on a new artist promo run for Slip & Slide Records and participated in the Hip-Hop Summit in Miami.

  • In 2005, he had the honor of being the opening act for platinum artist Bun B in Oklahoma City.

  • In 2006, Tee Nast signed with Straight Lace Ent. and continued to share the stage with platinum artists like Young Jeezy, Luni Corleone, Young Bloods, and Aroma, in Oklahoma City. He also opened for Plies during the Slip & Slide Candy Paint Tour in Oklahoma City.

  • In 2016, Tee Nast's journey took him to Enid, Oklahoma, where he once again had the privilege of opening for platinum artists like Bun B, Slim Thug, and Kirko Bang. He also organized the self-promoted event "Summer Heat" in Altoona, PA.

  • In 2017, Tee Nast's star continued to rise as he served as the opening act for platinum artist Jadakiss and Project Pat in Altoona, PA. Additionally, he performed at Wu-Tang management VP Jimmy Kang's birthday bash in Washington, DC, as part of the Protect Your Neck Records showcase.

Tee Nast's career has been marked by dedication, hard work, and a genuine love for the art of hip-hop.
